  18. You might try the Butil -recover command.  An application we have used to
  19. run into strange problems if the btrieve files had been updated thousands
  20. of times.  In a batch that is run nightly, the three data files are written
  21. out using -recover, restarted using -create, and -loaded again.

  23. We've been doing this for several versions of Btrieve, so the problem may
  24. now have been really fixed, but this nightly clean-up seems to make the
  25. whole system run much smoother.
