- You might try the Butil -recover command. An application we have used to
- run into strange problems if the btrieve files had been updated thousands
- of times. In a batch that is run nightly, the three data files are written
- out using -recover, restarted using -create, and -loaded again.

- We've been doing this for several versions of Btrieve, so the problem may
- now have been really fixed, but this nightly clean-up seems to make the
- whole system run much smoother.
