  12. I'm frankly astonished by how many people were interested
  13. enough in login panel tiffs to ftp my collection.  It seems
  14. to interest a lot of people.  That being the case
  15. (apparently), I guess some feedback on these would be of
  16. interest to me.

  18. From a design point of view, the greatest limitations of the
  19. present regime are that the loginwindow.app does not
  20. recognize alpha (anyone know why?) and that the positions of
  21. the two text windows wrt to the lower left corner are
  22. constants.  It seems to me these four numbers could as well
  23. be accessible in the defaults database.

  25. At a minimum, NeXT could make the full source of the app
  26. available; if one had access to that, diddling the nib
  27. should be an easy matter.  I realize that invites some
  28. obvious perils, but they are hardly greater than many others
  29. lurking about on any Unix machine.  What's a few anguished
  30. cries for help, more or less, among friends?
