  15. I have a Mac IIci at home. For  the  past  week  or  so  the  Mac  restarts
  16. automatically 30 secs (or so) after I turn it off via the "Shut Down" menu.
  17. I read the documentation and made sure the "power lock button" found in the
  18. rear  of  the  Mac  is  unlocked:  popped out and the notch in a horizontal
  19. position.

  21. According to the documentation ("Getting Started with your Mac IIci" pp 24)
  22.  
  23.     1) if the computer is on when you lock the power, it will turn off
  24.  
  25.     2) when you unlock the power, the computer will shut off
  26.  
  27. Well, none of this is true in my Mac IIci.
  28.  
  29.     1) If the computer is on and I lock the power, the Mac  restarts
  30.        as if I had pressed the front reset button.
  31.  
  32.     2) If the computer is  on  and  I  unlock  the  power,  the  Mac
  33.        continues working and does not shut off.
