  19. Yeah.  My pet peeve about the System 7 Finder is that there's no way to
  20. change the vertical offset of the icon grid positions.  You have two
  21. choices, either all icons in a row, or adjacent icons offset by half
  22. the icon height.  The wonderful Layout utility under system 6 let me
  23. offset adjacent icons by just the height of the text for the names.
  24. This enabled me to have long names that weren't obscured by neighboring
  25. icons while still preserving a definite row-oriented look.

  27. (Ok, so it's not exactly a "huge" complaint, but it's annoying as hell,
  28. precisely because it *is* such a simple thing that there's no damned
  29. reason for it to not be under user control.)
