- Yeah. My pet peeve about the System 7 Finder is that there's no way to
- change the vertical offset of the icon grid positions. You have two
- choices, either all icons in a row, or adjacent icons offset by half
- the icon height. The wonderful Layout utility under system 6 let me
- offset adjacent icons by just the height of the text for the names.
- This enabled me to have long names that weren't obscured by neighboring
- icons while still preserving a definite row-oriented look.

- reason for it to not be under user control.)
