- The .38 per page is incorrect. I have a pn48. Single-strike (single-heat)
- ribbons are about 3 bucks each. they will print at least 30 pages by my
- tests... if you do graphics, you get less.
-
- Plusses: outstanding (360dpi) print quality that is as good as our
- $10k laser printers. Amazingly small size fits in my Standard Compaq
- carrying case for my LTE lite 25c. In the two-sided case, I can carry
- the lite 25, the pn48, the pn48 power supply (very small with the plug-
- in pins folding flat to make it smaller) the LTE power supply, printer
- cable, extra ribbons, calculator, etc. The battery works well although
- I would hate to try to make one from scratch.
-
- minuses: slow. very slow. however, for a portable printer, it gets
- the job done, and you can't grumble about the quality, just the speed.
-
- the printer works well. Auto paper load (single sheet) means you simply
- insert a sheet, it is "sucked in" and positioned at top-of-form
- automagically.
-
- the Bj10ex is another good deal, just a whole lot bigger. It is about
- the same size as the lite 25 (my daughter has one of these.)
-
- plusses: speed. much faster than the pn48. the fonts are of equal quality
- and the in cartridges are cheaper per page. Battery pack works well for
- remote printing.
-
- minuses: size. Without the pn48, this would be a best buy, but it's size
- is simply too big. If size isn't important to you, this is probably a
- better printer due to longer between-cartridge intervals. It only likes
- cut sheets. If it doesn't detect a paper out after an appropriate amount
- of time, it gets upset (this is the bj10e, perhaps the ex has fixed this
- irritating problem?)
