  11. Hello!  I am going to purchase a notebook in a few weeks, and I
  12. thought I would solicit opinions from the 'net to get perhaps a less
  13. biased version of things than I hear from manufacturers and reviewers.
  14. My budget is around $2000, and I'm looking for something reasonably
  15. fast - 25 MHz or so - with 4 MB of RAM and a 120 MB disk, preferably
  16. including Windows and a pointing device.  This has led me to consider
  17. three models in particular:

  19.   1) Zenith Z-Note 325L (the ed. discount price is low enough)
  20.   2) Compaq Contura 3/25
  21.   3) Northgate (don't know the model number, but it's a 486SX/25 and still
  22.         the cheapest of the three)

  24. I've tried the Compaq and was pleased with the screen and keyboard,
  25. but there seems to be no way I will be able to try either of the other
  26. two before I buy.  Therefore, I am looking for any reviews,
  27. experiences, comments, etc. on any of the these or on any others I may
  28. have missed.  I'm especially interested in finding out about Zenith
  29. and Northgate keyboard quality - especially since two magazines
  30. commented on the stiffness of Zenith's keyboard - and how long the
  31. Northgate's battery really lasts.

  34. own review of whatever I end up getting in a couple of weeks when it
  35. arrives. :-)
