- This is a symptom of outdated software (:-). You're running issue 2.1.

- Update to 2.2 and the problem will disappear. The message is harmless by
- the way; it is a debug warning that was not removed. The solution is not to
- use the console (use a VT); then it won't intrude.

- Uh, are you getting a "***** RESET" (where the "*****" is a message
- describing the adapter and target numbers) on the console? If you are, then
- you have problems with the >drive<.

- What is the second drive make and model? Is it a Maxtor 4380S by any chance?
- The older 4380s have had trouble in this area. It seems to be particular to
- some drives. If you're having this problem you will see the "RESET" message
- on the console; that is bad news (as in the drive is inaccessible until you
- reboot once it happens, and any attempt to access it hangs the process).
