- I have diskettes which contain backups of files made on a 286
- computer. I was trying, unsuccessfully, to restore them to my 486.
-
- Everything looks fine but when you "start restore" nothing happens and
- I have to abort it. The other manifestation is that the DMA test hangs
- my 486. When I insert a blank diskette and run a DMA test (FASTBACK
- Installation Option), nothing happens and this time the only cure is
- CTRL+ALT+DEL...
-
- BTW, I have seen the exact same manifestation on a 386-40 computer.
-
- All ideas/comments/suggestions will be appreciated.
