  14. I have diskettes which contain backups of files made on a 286
  15. computer. I was trying, unsuccessfully, to restore them to my 486.
  16.  
  17. Everything looks fine but when you "start restore" nothing happens and
  18. I have to abort it. The other manifestation is that the DMA test hangs
  19. my 486. When I insert a blank diskette and run a DMA test (FASTBACK
  20. Installation Option), nothing happens and this time the only cure is
  21. CTRL+ALT+DEL...

  23. BTW, I have seen the exact same manifestation on a 386-40 computer.
