- You have an RLL, not MFM, drive. You need an RLL controller with the
- same track format as the Victor. It is extremely unlikely you will find one.
-
- Buy a new RLL controller and do a hard format (WD or Adaptec). You will
- lose all data on the drive, but have the raw storage available.
-
- I have had really bad experience with RLL, because the format is more demanding
- of the media and defects which were insignificant with MFM become hard errors.
- I would strongly recommend doing a media scan using one of the disk
- management utilities to find any defects not in the defect map for the drive.
- Run it for several days to be sure.
