- Perhaps, except that 95 hasn't been around as long as the 48, so he may
- have bought a 48 long before the 95 was even rumored. At current
- prices his machine would only cost about $450, a mere $50 more than a
- 512KB 95LX. Derive for the 95 costs another $250. Derive and a 48
- overlap only some some areas in their abilities. Also, Derive needs so
- much memory on the 95 that the machine must be rebooted then a special
- program run to claim any free RAM. This makes it difficult to run both
- Derive and any other software at the same time. Since Derive isn't
- System Manager compliant it wouldn't be easy to run the built in
- software and Derive at the same time even if there was enough memory
- (as perhaps on the 1MB 95 has).

- If someone wants to write software anywhere they should never do it on
- a pocket computer? The disadvantages of a small keyboard and display
- can often be offset by the disadvantages of hauling around five to ten
- pounds of hardware.

- All prices from EduCALC catalog #58, even lower prices are available
- elsewhere. I am not associated with EduCALC and am only a satisfied
- customer.
