- | There was some disussion on how to use a hard disk on a c64.
- |
- | Has anybody thought abaut the following way to do it:
- |
- | a: make some files on the harddisk off your pc. those will
- | be " disks " .
- | b: get the pc to emulate a 1541, and use those files.
- | c: get the c64 to use the pc as a drive.
-
- The idea is good. After writing X1541, I ave begin to write a program that can reply
- to C64 correctly. A simple modification to X1541 will not work, the problem is the
- control of the ATN signal and timing correctly the signals.
- For X1541, the 1541 wait IBM, in the new program IBM must wait C64 :-)
-
- | Becouse some while ago there was some posting on how to
- | connect a 1541 to a pc, it simply must be possible to
- | connect the c64 to a pc as well ( using the same connector )
-
- yes
-
- | The only problem is the pc programm that will use this
- | connector in the right way.
- | ( does anyone have the sourcecode off the neat program that
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
- yes :-)
-
- | came with the connector posting? or better yet, will the one
- | who wrote it help us out!? )
-
- I use the IEEE protocol I ave hacked. Sorry, I don't know any book about this protocol.
-
- | In this way you don't have to build a complex interface, or
- | otherwise do weird things, and it is a flexible dessign,
- | becouse you use the pc as a device.
- |
- | Seems easier than building an interface to the harddisk.
- |
- |
- | Hmm, you could use the pc-printer and even use the pc as a
- | printer buffer! ( i kind of like that )
-
- good idea !

-
- ciao, Leopoldo.
