  12. I've already posted this, but I suspect I hung up too fast and
  13. the news poster didn't complete the posting.  Apologies if it
  14. appears a second time...

  18. Firstly, thanks to Greg Gulik (I hope I got the spelling right), for
  19. the remarkable 3b2 binaries for GCC (2.3.2).
  20.  
  21. I _do_ however have a mild problem: the assembler finds many of the
  22. generated code unpalatable (mostly invalid instructions).  I guess
  23. that I have a somewhat dated assembler or that I need to instruct
  24. GCC to generate code with appropriate limitations for the 3B2/300
  25. I am running it on (Sys V r3.1).

  27. I'm looking for suggestions that will _not_ reduce the remaining
  28. 1.8MByte of disk space even further (please?!).

  30. Also, I'd be keen to establish the purpose of
  31.     /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/3b2/2.3.2/specs
  32. (a MAN page would be great) specially if it will assist with the
  33. above problem.

  39. I have since installed GCC 2.3.2 on a Sparcstation I have reasonable
  40. access to, but it's not quite the same...  However, pointers to the
  41. documentation as far as the above 'specs' file go will probably suffice.
