  13. I haven't seen anyone mention the dip switches that need to be changed when
  14. a second floppy is added.

  16. Dip Switch 1, located on the mother board:
  17.  
  18. SW7 on, SW8 on - one floppy drive
  19. SW7 off, SW8 on - two floppy drives
  20.  
  21. In addition, SW1 selects the floppy drive type
  22.             on = 48tpi (360K)
  23.             off = 96tpi (720K)

  25. SW2 selects start-up speed for the drive.  on = slow, off = fast
  26.      start-up.

  28. According to the service manual, floppy drives should be configured
  29. as drive 2 (assuming 1-4, not 0-3, select jumpers).  In addition,
  30. the drive should be configured for head loading controlled by the 
  31. "motor on" signal.  The LED should come on with "drive select."
