- I haven't seen anyone mention the dip switches that need to be changed when
- a second floppy is added.
-
- Dip Switch 1, located on the mother board:
-
- SW7 on, SW8 on - one floppy drive
- SW7 off, SW8 on - two floppy drives
-
- In addition, SW1 selects the floppy drive type
- on = 48tpi (360K)
- off = 96tpi (720K)
- \
- SW2 selects start-up speed for the drive. on = slow, off = fast
- start-up.
-
- According to the service manual, floppy drives should be configured
- as drive 2 (assuming 1-4, not 0-3, select jumpers). In addition,
- the drive should be configured for head loading controlled by the
- "motor on" signal. The LED should come on with "drive select."
-
- hope this helps.
