- I checked in my Apple IIgs Technical Reference and there is a 3.6864 MHz
- crystal attached to the serial chip. If the crystal's broken, you can easily
- buy a new one. But if it's a bad trace on the board, you can probably jumper
- the crystal's leads to the proper points on the chip. In the case of a bad
- trace, wiggling the crystal probably would help it. Check in a Tech Ref to
- find out how the crystal is wired so you can jumper it, if necessary. Oh -
- and don't confuse the 3.6864 MHz crystal with the 32.768 kHz crystal for the
- clock, or the 3.579545 MHz (if there is one) crystal for the composite video.
