- I would have sent this by e-mail, but Mr. Kohn's address was
- lost by the time it got to me thru comp.sys.apple2/info-app.
-
- I'm not exactly on internet, but bitnet, which can connect to
- internet thru ftp and telnet.
-
- So on my site there are two commands, ftp and telnet.
-
- I type for example ftp ftp.apple.com
- and in a few moments I know whether I have a connection.
- At the prompt for user I type "anonymous"
- For password, I type my internet address "st2975@siucvmb.siu.edu"
- Not the quotes, what's inside the quotes. For anonymous login,
- password can be anything, but internet address is recommended.
-
- I get email by subscribing to a listserv. Email sent to comp.sys.apple2
- and info-app is placed in my local mailbox as a series of files. If I
- don't read them or discard them, they disappear in about 2 weeks.
-
- Joe, if you want to know more about bitnet sites, send me email. I
- think some of it is covered in the faq.
