- I saw an A3000 running 800x600x4 under Wb_2.1 on an A1950. The built-in
- dosplay enhanced had to be turned off to get this to work and there was a
- slight amount of flicker visible. This was pretty well controlled by
- adjusting the screen colors to reduce their contrast. Not sure what the
- vertical scan rate of an A1950 is but I'd bet it is more like 56-60 Hz and
- not the 72 Hz that would be needed to make the flicker invisible.
-
- You have an excellent point: are there *ANY* monitors that can handle a
- 15.75 KHz sync freq plus a 72 Hz scan rate? I don't recall seeing any with
- those specs. I suppose that the A1960 handles this with ease. Other
- alternatives may be few and far between, however.

-
- Me, for one. The quality of the material that I'd put on such a disk is
- pretty poor compared to the commercial offerings. I don't need a 660 meg
- archive, I need 660 megs worth of *good* software.

-
- The 20 meg SCSI flopticals can r/w the 880k Amiga formatted disks? How
- about the newer 1.76 meg disks?
