- In a previous post someone said that the Amiga can not have a flicker free
- 800x600 display. Well, on another newsgroup yesterdauy, I read in a CBM
- engineers post a summary of all the Aga resolutions, and the scan rate the is
- required for them. He said that 800x600 requires a 72khz monitor frequency to
- display without flicker. These monitors are out there. I don't believe they
- scan down to 15khz for the lower resolutions, but in a short bit when AGA is
- dominanat in the Amiga world, no one will be writing software theat runs in
- less than 640x400 at 35khz, then the multiscans that go between 35 and 72 khz
- will be perfect for all programs.
- As far as CDROM being the future standard, guess again. The future is in
- CDRAM. A few years back, Tandy developed one. It should probably hit the
- market in a few years. That will end CDROM entirely. Who wants 660 megs of
- read only media, when they can have 660 megs of read/write media? The short
- term is definately the 20 meg flopticals that can read/write 720,880. and 1.44
- meg formats.
