  12. Well folks, I think I have just burnt a chip in my A3000.
  13. Symptoms:
  14. Communication ports started to act up.
  15. Re booted the machine and the whole shabang went dead.
  16. No hard drive and no floppy drive.

  18. What I think happened is I got a static charge through my Par. port,
  19. and fried a chip somewhere.
  20.  
  21. Questions:
  22. What chip could it be?
  23. How much money is required to replace it (if it is a chip)?
  24. Can I repair it myself ( if no soldering is required )?
  25.  
  26. I have been waiting for lightning to strike, and it did!
  27. But to happen when a I week off to play around with what I want,
  28. can only be a bummer..
