- THanks to all who responded to my comments and queries regarding
- Adaptec controllers and the SupraDrive 500XP.
-
- Solution: I had a defective DB25<-->Cent.50 cable. One of the
- data lines missed connection in the DB25 end.
-
- I should've known better than to trust a $3.95 cable. Oh well.
- I'll just run out to my local CompUSA and get a real MAC
- cable (maybe I'll actually get some quality control.)
-
- I'd make teh cable myself, but the MAC cable will be cheaper
- than the parts alone, I can almost guarantee.
-
- I pulled the cable off of my Apple //e hard disk and plugged
- it betweent the SupraDrive's external connector and the Adaptec'
- Header50<-->Cent.50 cable I made adn everything came to life.
- formatted without error and mounted beautifully on the next re-boot.
-
- Thanks again (especially for putting up with a lame-brain like me.)
