- Dear Amigans,
-
- Has anyone ever successfully connected an Iomega Bernoulli 90M
- removable cartridge drive with a HardFrame 2000 (version 1.5c) SCSI
- DMA controller? If so how do you like/dislike the configuration,
- performance, ease of use? Would you do it again the same way?
-
- I've heard from telephone sales people that the Bernoulli is only
- sold with a SCSI host adapter. And of course this board is for
- IBM-type PC machines and not of much use to me. The sales/tech
- person on the telephone said that he could promise that their
- Bernoulli would work with any other SCSI host adapter. While I
- understand that even though SCSI is a standard with defined
- specifications it's like saying all ice-cream is the same. So it's
- possible that there may be some merit to the claim that Bernoulli
- drives are exceptionally particular about what SCSI adapter they'll
- talk to. But when a sales person says that ONLY their package will
- work, well for me a red flag goes up and I start hearig phrases like
- "Danger Will Robinson" or the F-18A systems voice saying "Caution,
- Caution, Caution". So if any of you out there have real world
- experiences with Iomega Bernoulli 90 and HardFrame 2000 SCSI
- adapters or any SCSI adapter that works well with a Bernoulli drive
- in an Amiga I'd be most happy to read your tale of joy or woe. Thanks
- for taking the time to read this, and hopefully reply.
