- How about "da Silva"? I've found myself sorted as if my surname was "Da"
- (before Daniels), "D A Silva" (Before D.A.T.), "Dasilva" (before Davies),
- "da*" (after Z), and "Da\240silva" (after Day).

- Given what sorting is *for*, I'd say sort using whatever rules the
- person *reading* the list needs. These days, that means simple character
- set order since the "person" is a program.
