  20. We have been using and adding to Khoros with reasonable success.  It
  21. is free, provides a reasonably well documented interface, and does
  22. provide some interactive functions.  Contact Tom Sauer at Khoros
  23. Consortium for more information (sauer@chama.eece.unm.edu) or John
  24. Rasure (rasure@snidley.eece.unm.edu).  There is a reaonsably well
  25. developed user community which contributes code.  Khoros also provides
  26. excellent support for multi-platform execution so FFT's can be run on
  27. a Cray while display can be run on your local system - transparently.

  29. On package you did not mention was Simulab (now Simulink).  We tried
  30. it for a couple months before finding it would not meet our needs. (I
  31. can probably detail these if I think long enough.)  Simulab was also
  32. EXTREMELY expensive ($25K) and you only LEASED the software for a
  33. yearly maintenance fee.

  35. I have tried to use Splus from statsci and found it exceedingly
  36. difficult to use.  It was highly recommended so obviously others like
  37. it and this is my personal observation as a non-statistician.
