- It wasn't any host/IP address problem (FTP, ping, nfsping, NFS, finger all
- work fine!) The host table is okay... just telnet was broken.
- I turned on all of PC-NFS' telnet debugging and it got stuck during
- the initial negotiation (after it has established a connection with
- the host). Sending a break or 'are you there' from the telnet prompt
- sometimes forces the host's login messages to appear but that's about
- it... (I still can't type anything to log in)
- I bought Advance Telnet (an add-on product to PC-NFS) and it solved the
- problem. I don't know why the standard telnet program that comes with
- PC-NFS doesn't work correctly over SLIP (it works fine over ethernet...).
