  24. It wasn't any host/IP address problem (FTP, ping, nfsping, NFS, finger all
  25. work fine!)  The host table is okay... just telnet was broken.
  26. I turned on all of PC-NFS' telnet debugging and it got stuck during
  27. the initial negotiation (after it has established a connection with
  28. the host).  Sending a break or 'are you there' from the telnet prompt
  29. sometimes forces the host's login messages to appear but that's about
  30. it... (I still can't type anything to log in)
  31. I bought Advance Telnet (an add-on product to PC-NFS) and it solved the
  32. problem.  I don't know why the standard telnet program that comes with
  33. PC-NFS doesn't work correctly over SLIP (it works fine over ethernet...).
