  18. the problem was with the interphase board not handling multicast
  19. packets correctly.  djh@munnari.oz.au suggested this may be the
  20. problem, and it was.  i talked with interphase, and they were already
  21. hot onto the problem, and had a solution for me within a couple of
  22. days.

  24. the solution was to install version 2.1.2 of the NC software, and then
  25. install the 2.1.2.p1 patch that fixes the multicast problem.  NC 2.1.2
  26. requires SunOS 4.1.2 or 4.1.3.  i installed the software successfully
  27. on a 4/690 running SunOS 4.1.2 and the cap software started working.
  28. we have a 4/490 running 4.1.1 that i need to upgrade before being able
  29. to put the new NC software on.
