- We have a Hewlett-Packard IIIsi laser printer on the ethernet (via a
- Milan FastPort). Thus, we can print to it from our Unix boxes since
- /etc/printcap can speak to it directly.
-
- We also have a GatorBox CS, which allows the Unix machines to also
- print to LocalTalked printers (via phonenet).
-
- Now we have a Mac with an EtherNet card. I want to be able to print
- to the HP IIIsi, but it (and the FastPort) can't understand EtherTalk.
-
- So I would like to be able to print from the Mac by sending the file
- via EtherTalk to the Unix host and having it forward it to the printer.
- Of course I want this to show up in the Chooser...
-
- What do I need to get this to work? I got CAP, but I can't tell what of
- it is relevant. I don't need it to duplicate the functions of the
- GatorBox, just to understand EtherTalk and accept a file and send it to
- the Unix printer.
-
- Thanks a lot! Email is fine.
