  13. Well I have solved most of the problems I was having.  A portion of the
  14. strangeness was caused not by putting the strange float switch on the
  15. compiler (which dec support asked about) but having a logical including
  16. the library.  Somehow that made 1/5 of my pointers act strangely.  Further
  17. problems were the result of VMS storing data on the other side of code
  18. (compared to Unix and Dos) I had a 1 byte mistake that caused no apparent
  19. trouble on the other two platforms but made the vax choke.  Now I know
  20. a couple of things to keep in mind when I am working on a vax.  That is
  21. what I had asked for, and still would appreciate.
