  13. Well, I went back to the README file for Sytos, and guess what?   I just
  14. wasn't patient enough :-)   It takes 40 minutes to format a tape (DC2000)!
  15. I guess they do one byte per pass of the tape.   Anyway, after the tape
  16. formatted, I backed up a partition which has 12.5M of data on it.   It
  17. took about 6 min, and the compare afterward *said* the backup was good.
  18. I haven't actually tried a restore yet, though.

  20. Someone else mentioned that it "buzzed" his A: drive every time it accessed
  21. the tape.   Mine buzzed the B: drive maybe 2-3 times, but generally not.
  22. This software does eat the machine, though.   Now I know why they have
  23. unattended backup.   The machine is unusable while the backup/format runs!
