  12. I switch a few weeks ago one of my 2 HD (40mb to 130mb... Haaaaa the joy
  13. of 170mb total now!), and since I didn't want to much headeaches (yeah,
  14. right!) I put it as the 2nd physical drive(slave, btw that one is a
  15. Maxtor 7120AT, the master is a... heeee, Seagate maybe? and using FAT
  16. only).

  18. On COLD boot, I have no problem what so ever, but as soon as I do a WARM
  19. boot (3 finger salute, the RESET switch, or DUAL BOOT) then the troubles
  20. start... (get a "D: drive failure, push F1" after waiting 2 to 3 minutes
  21. on the "WAIT..." after the reboot, I press it, then another 2 minutes to
  22. get a Non-bootable disk message, press any key and then the system
  23. restarts). I called Maxtor and it seems to be a knowned
  24. incompatibilty(sp??) problem of those 2 brands set as I have them, the
  25. solution is to switch. At that time, I thought that I could live with
  26. this...

  28. So after 2 weeks of this I am getting fed up, so I am thinking of
  29. switching them around BUT I don't feel like having to re-install every
  30. thing (i.e for partition size reason, I would be stuck with a D drive of
  31. only 40mb wich is NOT enough for putting everything I want on D, it is
  32. at the moment 55) and then having to redo every object related to those
  33. prg since I would have to make my application/data drive as E.

  35. So I'm wondering, can the BOOT MANAGER take a 2nd physical drive and
  36. make the system beleive that's the one to boot DOS from, i.e I would
  37. like to install on the first physical drive the BM partion, OS/2 system
  38. partition and the other's partition I would need (Drives letter D,
  39. E[this would be the swap partition], and F),then the second physical
  40. drive would be 10mb containing the DOS boot and 30mb non-OS/2 compat
  41. drive,hopefully this could be set as G( or can someone tell me what this
  42. one would be??).

  44. Is this possible?? and if so, can I easilly back-up my wps and reestore
  45. it to it's present setting? (most probably using wpsbackup utilities?).
  46. I can of imagine in advance that the rest could have to be redone a bit
  47. too, but since I will be staying in FAT, it's just a question of using
  48. CPBACKUP to get them and reput them till I don't need to touch D and F I
  49. shall be OK (F being my partiton containing my Internet news/mail prg
  50. and storage area).
