- I recently decided to purchase a better ISA video card. (I had a Paradise
- PVGA1C based board with 512k and NO DRIVERS.) I decided on a Tseng ET4000
- based card, mostly because drivers come with it in the SP. I don't have
- any documents on my SVGA monitor however. How can I tell what mode my
- SVGA card is using to talk to my monitor at a given resolution? The
- monitor does support 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768. I'd like to be using
- the 800x600 mode (for speed and icon size reasons, mostly) but, this SVGA
- board will support several different vsync frequencies including a putrid
- 56.2Hz mode.
-
- It will also support 60Hz and 72.7Hz modes. I have a vmode utility by
- which I can request a particular refresh rate, but since it's a DOS
- program how does this mix with OS/2?
-
- One other item: How does one get a normal Windows setup program? The one
- I've got in \os2\mdos\winos2 only allows me to change the network for
- WinOS/2. I have a 65000 color 640x480 driver for my SVGA card that I'd
- like to use for my WinOS/2 driver. Only thing is that the instructions
- for loading this driver assume that you're installing into a normal Windows
- system, not OS/2.
