- The SIO drivers do seem to be noticeably faster on a per-character
- and per-line basis, but they're still not fast enough to keep up with 38.4K
- ASCII in a DOS session unfortunately. While running Qmodem in a full-screen
- DOS session (idle 10/100) and scrolling continuous ASCII over a 14.4K
- v.42bis (USR DS) connection the SIO comm drivers didn't lose characters,
- but when the buffer got full it lost track of the modem! This same problem
- happened with the pre-service-pack comm drivers. What happened is that
- Qmodem could no longer receive anything from the modem, though it would send
- ok. I managed to do "+ + + AT H0" and hung up the phone. That problem
- went away when I installed the service pack. BTW, Qmodem recognized the
- SIO drivers as a 16550 and knows how to take advantage of such chip.
- Any ideas? It'd be great to have the nice fast drivers without having
- them go off into never-never land at high receive speeds.
