  33. Have you installed CD-ROM support? (Or is that a stupid question? But I had
  34. to ask).

  36. Your CONFIG.SYS should contain
  37. a)    a basedev command for your SCSI controller.
  38. b)    IFS=x:\OS2\CDFS.IFS /Q (x being the appropriate drive letter)
  39. c)    device=x:\OS2\CDROM.SYS /I /Q /N:4  (N:4 meaning SCSI Id 4)

  41. Your CD-ROM should have the ID 4.
  42. These settings should be made automatically, when you do a selective install
  43. Be sure to include IBM CDROM as well, since IBM drives are really Toshibas
  44. (or so I am told).
  45. It is possible to use DOS to access the OS2 beta. There is good information
  46. on this topic on the CD itself. To install the 2.1 beta from the CD you'll
  47. have to make two disks from images on the CD. The future domain controller
  48. is explicitly listed there as supported controller.
