  15. Is there anywhere I can look to find an example of a Windows program which
  16. uses a communications device? (modem).

  18. By the way, it was I who started the thread on "unhelpful newgroup" (sic), 
  19. and after many e-mail replies and the discussion here, I am now persuaded
  20. that e-mail responses are best except in cases where the question is clearly
  21. a FAQ *and* the responder has some expertise on the subject.  But, it might
  22. also be advisable for the initial poster to summarize the responses if he feels
  23. the problem may be common.
