- Dumb question #986:
-
- Sometimes when I'm doing a lotta stuff in a DOS box under Windows 3.1,
- things that are probably causing LOTS of disk access and thus exercising
- SMARTDRV, which I have running on all 3 drives, the keyboard input
- simply doesn't appear for a relatively long time (like 15 seconds or more),
- then plots, while the next batch of keys are ALSO delayed. Something
- is apparently buffering the keyboard input while other things go
- on (like flushing buffers, perhaps?) Anyway, it's just odd, and
- I was wondering if any Windows Guru out there could tell me the real cause;
- IS it SMARTDRV, and if so, why? This is NOT a complaint, just a query.
- It happens relatively seldom, and I can live with it; I'm just curious.
-
- Thanks!
