- SM||I recently installed an internal modem into my 386.
- SM||My machine was already set up to use COM1 for the
- SM||mouse and COM2 as a regular serial port. I installed
- SM||the internal modem board as COM3, but can't get it
- SM||to work under Windows 3.0.

- Hi Steve,
-
- I have no idea wether or not this message will reach you
- before you've obtained an answer, this is my first time on this net.
- The problem you are having is that COM1 and COM3 share the same IRQ
- address. The same goes for COM2 and COM4. The simple solution would be
- to configure your internal modem as COM4 and then it won't conflict
- with your mouse when running Windows. This is the way I have mine
- configured and it works without fail.
-
- On another note,
- My message packet for this conference echo was well
- in excess of 500 messages. All of the messages are addressed to "ALL"
- and none to anyone in specific. Are the "TO" variables stripped when
- the messages are tossed? Thanks for the info...
