- I have problem in running Windows 3.1 on an IBM PS/2
- (Model 70, 386, DOS 5.0). The problem is that as soon as
- I type "win" at C: prompt, the title screen of Windows
- comes up, and suddenlly goes away, leaving me on dos
- prompt. The system was working fine before.
-
- What I have done:
-
- I tried to reinstall both DOS and Windows. During the windows
- setup procedure (on Disk 2) before I get any Windows screen the
- setup process stops and gives me the following error message:
-
- Standard Mode: Fault in MS-DOS Extender.
- EC=0000 CS=0053 IP=2B9A AX=0500 ...
- ...
-
- What is wrong with this system? What should I do to fix it?
- All things was running fine, and this problem has appeared
- suddenly. Any and all commnets are greatly appreciated.
