  10. My brother and I got ahold of the A-set of the SLS, 0.98pl5.  We made
  11. the diskettes and everything, and excitedly rebooted his computer with
  12. the a1 disk in the drive(System stats will follow).  It got to the
  13. question about video modes and proceeded to reboot the computer.  We
  14. tried all 4 modes that it came up with, as well as the default.  Same
  15. results each time.  Is this a known problem?  Can anyone suggest a work
  16. around so that we can boot the system?  N.B. I am an experienced unix
  17. programmer, so I can probably try some pretty complex stuff.

  23.     SVGA card with 512k (SigmaVGH/H BIOS V2.68) <--Exact line from BIOS
  24. init
  25.     230M IDE drive.

  27. Has anyone gotten a similar setup to work, especially a SIGMA VGA card? 
  28.  Also,  can someone give me a list of some well-known VGA cards (or
  29. cheap clones) that do work?  We have to buy another VGA card for another
  30. machine, and we don't mind swapping the cards.
