  11. Gidday all,
  12. Sorry if this question has been asked before but I can't find it, but I
  13. can't log in as root anymore. This happened AFTER I tried symlinking
  14. libc.so.4 to libc.so.4.2. The error I get is :-

  16. login: sync
  17. -sync: can't load library '/lib/libc.so.4'
  18.        Permission denied
  19.  
  20. OR
  21.  
  22. login: user1
  23. -bash: can't load library '/lib/libc.so.4'
  24.        Permission denied

  26. I've tried chowning libc.so.4 to bin.bin or root.other (currently it's
  27. root.root) but it makes no difference. Also, once I've got libc.so.4.2
  28. done, can I delete libc.so.4.0 and libc.so.4.1??
