- This is not quite correct. I already sent Evan mail about his question, but
- this misinformation deserves a public response.

- Linux won't run in an OS/2 VDM because the VDM is in "virtual 8086" mode,
- and runs its code in ring 3. Linux is a full *386* OS and must run from
- ring 0, which OS/2 does not and can not permit. As for OS/2 VDMs in
- general, I encourage you to look up "specific DOS" in your manual and
- generalize --- it should be possible to run an 8086 operating system in a
- Specific quote-DOS-unquote session by following the directions for creating
- a Specific DOS booter with your 8086 OS's boot disk. (Say, early Coherent.
- Coherent 4.x won't work, and if 3.x uses 286 protected-mode instructions it
- won't work either. Stock Minix (not the 386 version) should also work.)
