  13.     I'm starting to think that ppl are misunderstanding my problem
  14. with dialin :(  I could be wrong...I could be missing something that
  15. someone is telling me, or that the docs are telling me...but here goes
  16. again.

  18.     Dialin works...login doesn't (simple, eh? *smile*)  I
  19. installed getty_ps204, like everyone told me.  I got the modem to
  20. answer and issue a login prompt.  That's as far as it goes :(

  22.     What I get for a login prompt is:

  26.     passwd:
  27.     <dead>  <-- doesn't hangup, doesn't do anything, just sits
  28. there.

  30.     I do not believe that this has *anything* to do with how the
  31. modem is inititalized, or else it wouldn't give me the login/passwd
  32. prompts.  Compiling poeigl-1.7 doesn't help in the least, because it
  33. doesn't work with the shadow suite :(
