  13. Well, I dl'ed the a & b series disks for sls from sunsite, and
  14. installed them today.  I set up the drive to have 4 partitions: DOS,
  15. swap, / and /usr.  There were some inconsistancies reported during the
  16. installation, and I didn't get the b4/lx99.taz file (I could not find
  17. .99 src at sunsite at all), but it seems useable.

  19. I would like 80x50 text mode, though.  (80x60 would be even better.)

  21. I had thought that sls .99 was out, but I only got .98-5.  Running
  22. strings on /Image, though, found the line:

  26. so I'm not sure just what version I *did* get.  [SIGH]

  28. Anyway, I think I'm going to retry, as DOG won't recognize the dog
  29. partition at all, and I do, unfortunately, need to use it a bit.

  31. Anyway, is there a more up to date version out there?  Do I have to
  32. ftp to Europe to get the 99.1 src?  Would anyone who knows dos
  33. internals be willing to help me reverse-engineer the dos utilities
  34. that gateway provided to change the cpu speed, the power-savings
  35. modes, etc (I'll be finding out tomorrow whether they work in dosemu)?
