  11. In this case, I was more of an end-user than a programmer.  The fix for
  12. my particular case seems to be the "INIT" string in /etc/default (again,
  13. I am using uugetty from getty_ps package).  It seems the first ATZ was
  14. getting missed by my modem, so adding another should fix.

  16. Linus - After reading about POSIX improvements to SIGHUP etc. handlying in
  17. 0.99pl1, I feel real good about the 15 minutes it took me to compile the new
  18. kernel!  I was worried all that time would go to waste :-).  But seriously,
  19. you have got to make this kernel install stuff more difficult!  It is getting
  20. too easy!  I mean, you wouldn't see the major comercial vendors giving you a
  21. make file with "config, dep, and clean"!  Would you.  At least make us return
  22. a registration card or something.
