- I have a similar problem which shows up when I'm using xdm. X always
- comes up fine the first time, but when X is restarted when I log out
- *most* of the time the clocks or something else is wrong with the
- settings on my ET4000 card, resulting in a flickering and distorted
- display. The strange thing is, I *have* a clocks line my Xconfig. When
- I start the server with 'startx' the clock frequencies are reported
- correctly. I tried changing an unused frequency in the clocks line,
- and yes, the line reported on startup changed too, so X recognizes the
- clocks line. But it still looks like it is attempting autodetection,
- and failing.
-
- My configuration: Linux 0.99.1, X server 1.0Ya (from the SLS kit),
- ET4000 based video card.
