  10. I've compiled and am successfully using LINUX 0.99.1.
  11. I've compiled and wish to be equally so with LILO 7.
  12.  
  13. I can make a LILO 7 floppy which boots fine, but attempts to
  14. make the hard drive bootable are failures.  Would appreciate
  15. insights other than RTFM/FAQs.

  17. My /etc/lilo/config is:
  18. install = /etc/lilo/boot.b
  19. image = /Image
  20.   label = lin-hd
  21.   root  = /dev/hda1
  22.  
  23. If I run:
  24. $ROOT/etc/lilo/lilo - C /etc/lilo/config $*
  25.  
  26. no errors are reported.
  27. Then I sync and reboot.
  28. The system reports NO OS.
  29.  
  30. My disktab is:
  31. 0x301    0x80    38    16    683    0    # /dev/sda
  32.  
  33. The drive is a Maxtor 210MB IDE....683, 38, 16 are reported by the BIOS.
