  12. A few days ago I posted xstones for Xfree1.1 at 1024x768 on a
  13. Gateway DX2-66V local bus with an ATI Ultra Pro with 8MB ram.
  14. Here are the results for X8514:

  24. Faster on fillStones, blitStones, arcStones, and complexStones; about
  25. the same on lineStones; slower on textStones for a net result of more
  26. than twice the xstones of Xfree1.1.

  28. I didn't try running any applications (due to problem 2) below) so I
  29. can't speak to success or failure there.

  31. A few problems, however, for which I would appreciate some help:
  32.  1) screen is garbled (vertical lines about 1/4" apart, nothing readable)
  33.     upon exiting X
  34.  2) mouse (logitech on /dev/ttys1) is VERY erratic and unusable; I
  35.     fooled with baudrate and samples without much luck.
