- Ok, I've been running .98pl5 for a few days now without a hitch but.....
- today, I tried, (logged on as root) 'finger root@' ...
- the screen filled with garbage, and the machine reset before I could blink.
-
- I'm kinda new to this, has this happened before? Is it fixed in .99?
-
-
- Also, while I'm at it (and since I'm calling long dist just to post
- this--eek!) I was compiling a simple c++ program with g++.
- It was something like
- #include <stream.h>
- main()
- {
- cout << "Hello there."
- }
-
- very simple, no? Well, GCC didn't like it, and barfed all over. I was
- compiling using g++ hello.C -o hello and it puked. BUT, when I used the -g
- option, everything was rosy, it compiled without a hitch...WHY?????
-
- I'm using an AMD386-40 with 210meg Maxtor HD. All the shadow-ram-crap has
- been disabled, no change.
-
- (other than this--great OS!!)
-
- PLEASE--any responses, e-mail me at kfisher3@mach1.wlu.ca
- Thanks.
