- After getting iozone, I tested the performance of my drives ( st3120a and
- Maxtor 7120a ) and I was surprised. The default-values gave the following
- results:
-
- st3120a read: 146KB, write: 26KB, Maxtor: read 62KB, write: 30KB
- ( both wiith iozone 6 256 ).
-
- Under DOS, the performance was 957KB/sec for the seagate, 780KB/sec for the
- Maxtor and now I wonder, why Coherent's I/O is so slow. Is it the way
- Coherent 'speak' to the drives, or are just the values totally wrong ?
-
- I tested several values but I didn't get more than 150KB/sec.
-
- If someone has values for one or both drives which will speed them up,
- please email me, 'cause I want to swap my root-partition to from the maxtor
- to the seagat and I would be happy, if the performance will rise.
