  35. Good question.  I have a 386DX/33 with OPTI chipset and AMI BIOS.  The
  36. motherboard manual says that it uses an 8042 keyboard controller chip.
  37. My old 84 key AT keyboard does not work with virtual consoles on this
  38. machine.  The Northgate keyboard solved the problem.

  40. Does your motherboard have any jumpers that are associated with the
  41. keyboard controller chip?

  43. MWC would have to have your complete system in order to debug the problem.
