- Good question. I have a 386DX/33 with OPTI chipset and AMI BIOS. The
- motherboard manual says that it uses an 8042 keyboard controller chip.
- My old 84 key AT keyboard does not work with virtual consoles on this
- machine. The Northgate keyboard solved the problem.

- Does your motherboard have any jumpers that are associated with the
- keyboard controller chip?

- MWC would have to have your complete system in order to debug the problem.
