- Well, I've been using a CMS tape backup for 2 1/2 years with zero problems.
- I use it frequently, both to backup and to restore.
-
- I also use it to backup my Coherent system, but via a kludge. I backup my
- files, then copy to a dos partition, then boot from dos, then move to
- tape. So far, this has worked well - I've been able to restore whole
- file systems without problems. I have a script which does the backups
- each day/week/month to the dos partition, then I periodically boot from
- dos and move it all to tape.
-
- I would like to have a real device driver that would allow me to directly
- use my tape system.
-
- I wish people would quite argueing about which was better - SCSI, etc. Why
- not recognize that device drivers are needed for all popular formats, and
- provide them? I feel MWC has dropped the ball in this regard, that they've
- left their serious users out on a limb, and aren't moving real fast to
- protect them.
