- If you provide it via news, you've not taken anything away from anyone else that
- the had before. This sounds like a case of "misery loves company". "If I can't
- have it, you can't either". News is the most accessible alternative, but as I
- said before, why stop at one alternative? Look at it this way, by your standards
- you are goring all the users _with_ a news feed.

- UUCP is free. If you are fortunate enough to be near a usenet site that will let
- you connect, news is available for the cost of a modem. MANY sites are in fact
- fortunate in this manner (including mine). News basically costs me a modem and
- disk space. No connect charges, unlike DECUServe. And since everything is
- delivered here at modem speed, the line is up much less time than if I had to
- read it on-line, so if I did have to pay LD, news would be a big win. And news
- is often available via a local call, whereas DECUServe is available to very few
- people as a local call.
-
- If you really feel for us little guys, dump notes and shift everything to news.
- BTW, I'm talking about DECUServe rather than DCS here, because (a) all the same
- arguments apply, and (b) DCS isn't available at any cost to lots of the "little
- guys".
