- The only area where I had real problems with Cakewalk for Windows, was the
- reception of long sysex dumps. It simply did not work with the default
- parameters in TTSSEQ.INI. Sometimes it appeared to receive a full Wavestation
- dump (over 200000 bytes) but sending it back made my WS barf. I even got
- blown out to DOS prompt once during sysex receive (with version 1.01 - never
- seen it later again). After fiddling with the parameters for a while, I found
- a set that works flawlessly. You might want to try these:
-
- [Options]
- SysxReceiveBuffers=50
- SysxReceiveBuffersSize=10000
- SysxSendPacketSize=256
-
- The last one is merely for the U-220, which is slow as a snail...
-
- Using big buffers is against the manual (p. 151), but it works :-)
-
- If you're low on memory, you could reduce the SysxReceiveBuffers to 25.
-
- It *could* be in the ROMs of the 01/W, too: My Alesis D4 complains every
- time it gets it's own sysex dump back. There must be an error in the
- original checksums, because it still does receive the actual data OK.
